Dr. McKinney’s talk provides foundational information about what burnout is, why it is so costly in the context of the workplace, strategies to reduce wellness inequality, and most importantly, several brain-hacks to combat burnout. Attendees will learn what burnout looks like in the workplace, including its impacts and prevalence, and how to recognize burnout in themselves and in their colleagues. Through active participation, attendees will develop a burnout management strategy that leverages these brain-hacks to boost job satisfaction, improve work-life balance, and increase productivity. Dr. McKinney integrates his proprietary gamified mental wellness app to transform this talk into an interactive workshop, and show attendees first hand how the ideas discussed in the workshop can be applied to address their own burnout levels. While this talk is geared towards employees, it can also be tailored for delivery to executives, management teams, or other stakeholders that hold a role in addressing workplace burnout and wellness.
